Friendship Requires Sacrifice; Martine will do anything for friends in Dolphin Song.

When I read I feel like I am part of the book like I got sucked into the book I can never get out of it. Like in a book when the main character is on a beach and a wave runs over their toes I feel like a wave was on my toes too. Books are book that can never be changed thats what is unique about them they are good they are bad it does not matter they are unique in there own way and that is how I like them. In the book Dolphin Song by Lauren St. John, Martine realizes that no matter what happens even if you are not friends you can always help out even if you are not welcome. In this book friendship requires sacrifice because they are friends they be-friend and then they all become friends and they start to take of each other and respect each other and the environment.

"After something bad comes something good and when you hold yourself back you stop and let yourself go and do the best things that you can do and be nice and help out." In the other book these kids were very mean to Martine and her friend Ben and she wants to be nice to them but they do nothing in return but she does not give up on her friend and being nice to others. "Everything changed after I saved him they began to respect Ben and I and they worked with us to.".... They kids started respecting Martine and Ben and started working together and getting off the island.

"When people are stranded or together for a long time get mad and mean at each other or people help push each other farther and tell them that they can do it." 'I lunged towards them "they stole my survive pack" then I charged at them but Ben grabbed me around my waist and pulled me back "let me go" I yelled but he pulled me back to our camp. (119)'St. John is very detailed about the story and what happens in it like when Martine and her friend Ben get in a fight and Ben leaves her and when she is in trouble he comes and saves her and she forgives him.

When Martine saves one of the Five Star Gang kids they start to lighten up around them they start to be nice to them.

St. John tells everything very well and gives you a lot of detail and lets you figure out everything too.

In the book Dolphin Song by Lauren St. John, Martine realizes that you can change from the littlest things ever. From this story I have learned that do not give up on others and help out whenever you think you can help out. This book teaches a lot about friendship and how to be nice and save other people.
